Congratulations to James Watson, JD ’98 who was recognized at this year’s 2024 Leadership in Law Awards from The Indiana Lawyer with the Distinguished Barrister Award. The Distinguished Barrister Award honors those who have set themselves apart as leaders of the legal profession with at least 20 years of experience. The award was presented at the 2024 Leadership in Law breakfast on June 5.
James is a partner in Ice Miller’s Litigation Practice Group. His practice consists of cybersecurity/data privacy matters as well as white-collar matters/internal investigations. Prior to his time at Ice Miller, James was a Special Agent, Supervisory Special Agent, and General Counsel for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. In addition to the 2024 Leadership in Law recognition, his work has been recognized by the FBI with its Medal of Excellence and by the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association with the National Award for Investigative Excellence. He was also recognized by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children with a Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award.
