Jeff Drobish

Professor Drobish teaches first-year legal writing courses that cover objective analysis, reasoning, and advocacy. These classes focus not only on the technical craft of legal writing and persuasion, but also on the customs and traditions that comprise professionalism in the practice of law.

Following his graduation from the Washington University School of Law, Prof. Drobish served as a law clerk on the Missouri Court of Appeals, then entered private practice as a chapter 11 bankruptcy attorney in the District of Delaware. In this role, Prof. Drobish represented business clients in mega-cases such as the bankruptcies of Washington Mutual and The Chicago Tribune companies. Prior to returning to St. Louis, Prof. Drobish also served as a Deputy Attorney General in the securities unit of the Delaware Department of Justice under Attorney General Joseph R. (“Beau”) Biden, III. This work included first-chair representation of the Attorney General in trial and appellate courts.

While a law student, Prof. Drobish served as a Notes Editor on the Washington University Law Review and received distinctions for written and oral advocacy in the Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Competition. Prior to law school, Prof. Drobish worked as a pricing manager at CitiMortgage, Inc., in O’Fallon, Missouri. When not on campus, Prof. Drobish enjoys spending time with his children, Wesley and Nora.
