Hyla Bondareff

Electronic Resources Librarian; Lecturer in Law

Hyla Bondareff is WashULaw’s Electronic Resources Librarian and a Lecturer in Law. A member of the law library staff since 1992, she currently teaches legal research to first-year law students and is responsible for the library’s electronic resources, interlibrary loan, and providing reference services to the law school community. Bondareff has written about the methodology of law school rankings and presented at conferences and workshops on matters such as mobile apps for law libraries; training public interest lawyers and non-law librarians on use of free government information; and web resources for enhancing access to equal justice. She is also on the board of editors for Legal Reference Services Quarterly. Prior to joining the law school, she practiced law at Peterson & Ross, a Chicago law firm, where she represented US and international clients in the area of directors’ and officers’ liability insurance, and also worked as an insurance and reinsurance underwriter in Boston, Massachusetts for John Hancock and Liberty Mutual.
