Daniel Rhoads

Adjunct Professor

Daniel Rhoads is an attorney at The Rhoads Firm, LLC.

St. Louis was the first American city in which my family resided; but I was raised in Aurora, Illinois. Growing up in Aurora exposed me to people from all walks of life. From a young age, I was part of a community that included people of different ethnic backgrounds, education levels, countries of origin, and ways of thinking.

My family was never wealthy, but we believed in the power of education. My mother was a public school teacher; and my sister, brother, and I attended public schools through 12th grade. We were fortunate to live within a good school district with strong teachers, and we learned a lot.

I decided to return to St. Louis for law school and attend Washington University. I loved it there, as I not only enjoyed academic success but also forged long-lasting relationships. I was on the Dean’s List multiple times and, upon graduation, was inducted into the Order of Barristers.

For a little over five years, I worked at mid-size law firms in the St. Louis area. I gained experience in both school law and general trial practice. I was fortunate to learn the practice of law with some of the best attorneys in St. Louis.

In 2012, I decided to form my own practice. My idea was to focus on education while also tapping into the experience I gained in litigation. I also wanted to help individuals with immigration-law needs. This idea turned into The Rhoads Firm, LLC.

Now, my practice centers around education, immigration, and litigation. I work mostly in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County in Missouri, as well as Madison County and St. Clair County in Illinois. In my career, I have appeared as far south as Dunklin County, Missouri, and as far north as Winnebago County, Illinois. I have appeared in the Immigration Court in Kansas City and have litigated in the Court of Federal Claims in Washington.
