U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor Visits WashULaw

We were honored and excited to have had United States Supreme Court Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor visit WashU earlier this month, and to host her at the School of Law for a special visit. Dean Russell Osgood interviewed Justice Sotomayor prior to the university-wide event at a fireside chat, which featured a small group of law students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Justice Sotomayor discussed the importance of clerking, her camaraderie with fellow justices, and more. Two students provided introductory and closing remarks: Dinora Orozco and James Akinleye, respectively.

Justice Sotomayor walked up and down the aisles for much of the discussion, greeting and shaking hands with attendees. It was a meaningful day for our community and certainly our students, who were greatly inspired by her words of wisdom. Thank you to Justice Sotomayor, and all who made her visit possible! Our community will always remember this incredible day. Watch the university-wide conversation in full here.
