Professor of Practice Jo Ellen D. Lewis specializes in legal analysis and writing, professional practice, advanced legal writing, and real estate law. In addition to her teaching, she is the director of the Legal Practice Program and has co-advised the Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Team. Professor Lewis has taught and presented in Japan, South Korea, Portugal, and China, including at Fudan University School of Law under a Fulbright Senior Scholar Grant. She regularly presents on issues related to legal writing and practice at national and international conferences. A member of the Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Missouri Bars, Professor Lewis maintains a small private practice focusing on real estate law and legal writing consulting. Before joining the law school, she worked at two Washington, D.C. law firms practicing real estate law.
