Hosted by the Whitney R. Harris World Law Institute at WashULaw, the Red Cross International Humanitarian Law (IHL) workshop features lectures and hands-on exercises that guide participants through an intensive examination of IHL with a focus on its application to combatants and civilians. The sessions will be led by American Red Cross legal professionals Noah O’Connor and Molly Kovite and are designed for working professionals as well as law and graduate students. During the lunch lecture, Professor Leila Sadat will speak on International Criminal Law (ICL) and enforcement mechanisms used to punish violations of IHL. Participants are expected to attend all of the sessions in the program and will receive a Certificate of Completion and an IHL manual from the American Red Cross.
