Forwarded on behalf of the Musical Showcase co-chairs:
Dear Members of the WashU Law Community,
Virtual auditions for the 8th Annual Musical Showcase, returning to the in-person stage on March 30, 2023 in the Janite Lee Reading Room, are now open! The Musical Showcase provides an opportunity for students, staff, and faculty to perform music for our community and, at the same time, discover the amazing hidden talents of our colleagues and friends.
The Music Showcase Committee is accepting virtual auditions now through March 6, 2023. You can submit your virtual audition by clicking here.
What is a Virtual Audition? Because we will have more limited time and performance slots than in virtual years past, we are asking that acts interested in performing submit a video audition via YouTube of their performance so that we can plan the logistical elements and overall flow of the event. The audition does not have to be perfect, nor does the video need to be perfectly produced! We are simply looking to get a good idea of what your act will be. Here’s an example of a great virtual audition from last year’s virtual showcase.
We strongly encourage musical members of our community to submit group acts! If you are interested in being connected to other musicians in our community to form a group act, click here.
Acts can include non-WashU Law community members, but we do ask that at least one member of the group be affiliated with WashU Law. We also ask that performances run no longer than 5 minutes, so that we can maximize the number of acts that can perform.
Questions? Feel free to reach out to any of the Musical Showcase Committee members.
Rock on,
The Musical Showcase Committee
