About Andrew Tuch

Professor Tuch teaches Corporations Law, Investment Banking & Private Equity, and Securities Regulation. His research spans securities and financial regulation, corporate governance, and comparative law. His scholarship has appeared in more than 40 leading law reviews and edited volumes, and his articles “Multiple Gatekeepers” (Virginia Law Review) and “Reassessing Self‑Dealing” (Fordham Law Review) were each ranked among the top ten corporate and securities articles in their respective years.

His work has been featured at major conferences worldwide, including the Harvard–Stanford–Yale Junior Faculty Forum, the American Law & Economics Association, and the Conference on Empirical Legal Studies. His work and views have been featured in global media, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Bloomberg, Reuters, and the Australian Financial Review. Professor Tuch has chaired the AALS Sections on Business Associations and Financial Institutions and served on FINRA’s National Adjudicatory Council.

Before joining Washington University, Professor Tuch taught at Sydney Law School (tenure‑equivalent) and Harvard Law School as a Byse Fellow. He practiced at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York and London. He holds a Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) and an LLM from Harvard, where he was a Fulbright Scholar, Olin Fellow, and two-time Brudney Prize recipient, and earned BCom and LLB degrees (first class honors, University Medal) from the University of Queensland.
