The Webster Society, named in honor of our distinguished alumnus, William H. Webster, JD '49, is a three-year scholarship program for students committed to public service. Scholars in the Webster Society are selected because of their outstanding credentials and their demonstrated commitment to public service. Webster Scholars receive full tuition scholarships and a $5000 annual stipend for three years.

The Webster Society Scholars are distinctive and active law students. They have distinguished themselves, not only through academics, but through their leadership, character, and achievements in public service. The Webster Society is open to all first-year J.D. students at Washington University. Invitation to membership is merit-based with special consideration given to those who have demonstrated leadership and commitment to public service.
