Hi everyone,

We are very excited to serve you as Academic Chairs! Our goal for this academic year is to help BLSA members, particularly 1Ls, tackle the unique academic demands of their first year of law school. We are all in this together, and we are here to help each other out. Throughout the year, among other things, we will:

Host a “professor talk”:
2Ls will share with 1Ls strategies on how to prepare for each professor’s class and exam.

  • Date: TBA
  • Location: TBA

Host an academic skills workshop:
Join Professor Peter Wendel, Professor of Law from Pepperdine University, for a presentation that will hone your skills in areas, such as reading and analyzing cases, preparing for class, and exam taking. Professor Wendel has presented this academic workshop with much success at conventions and a number of law schools across the country; you won’t want to miss this! This BLSA sponsored event is open to all WashU Law students.

  • Date: TBA
  • Location: TBA

Facilitate outline sharing:
Outlines created by law students, who received an A or A+ will be made available to BLSA dues-paying members in October. Please see the password-protected link, Course Outlines.

Distribute BLSA supplements:
It’s the annual handing down of donated study aids, flash cards, and other resources to supplement your course materials. Don’t miss the opportunity to avail yourself of the benefits and privileges of the BLSA library mid-September!

  • Date:  TBA

Coordinate proctored practice exams:
Join us and take one of your class practice exams your professor made available to you. Practice exams are a great way to gain confidence in what you know and/or do not know and in your in-class exam time management.

  • Date:  TBA

It is going to be a great academic year!

Best,
Emily Brewster
