Poscover, Adjunct Faculty, and Alumni Listed in Premier St. Louis’ Best Lawyers Publication
National Council member, 2003 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient, and adjunct faculty member Maury Poscover, JD ’69, is among the 13 Washington University Law School alumni to be named Lawyers of the Year by Best Lawyers, the oldest legal peer-review organization in the U.S. Also earning the distinction are four other adjunct faculty members, Gary Feder, JD '74; Michael Kahn; Michael Geigerman; and Lloyd Palans.
Lawyer of the Year recognition is significant because the winners are nominated and evaluated by their peers. The process ensures that the winners have the highest attorney ratings of the more than fifty thousand attorneys nominated through nearly five million evaluations in 134 practice areas. The recognition is limited to one lawyer per practice area per metro area. This is the first year that Best Lawyers has published a St. Louis edition.
Other alumni to receive the 2014 award are: Kenneth Bean, JD ’77; Glenn Davis, JD ’82; John Dillane, JD ’84; Keith Hazelwood, JD ’70; Arthur Margulis, JD ’58; Alan Nemes, JD ’83; Albert Rose, JD ’70; Thomas Story, JD ’72; John Sullivan, JD ’79; Erb Thomas, JD ’79; and Timothy Thornton, JD ’80.
As already announced, Best Lawyers also named Maxine Lipeles, senior lecturer in law and co-director of the Interdisciplinary Environmental Clinic, 2014 St. Louis Environmental Litigation Lawyer of the Year.
