Each spring, the law school honors students from the top 15 percent of the class at a special Academic Excellence Reception. This year, members of the class of 2012 were saluted along with Honorary Order of the Coif initiate, Susan Nell Rowe, JD ’83, a partner in the litigation department of The Stolar Partnership in St. Louis.

Dean Kent Syverud also made remarks. Associate Dean Janet Bolin and Vice Dean Peter Joy presented each honoree with a gift and a chocolate “purse of gold,” in recognition of the ancient tradition in which initiates to the English Order of the Coif were honored for their achievements with purses of gold.
