Prof. Legomsky to Recieve AILA Teaching Award
Law professor Stephen H. Legomsky will receive the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)’s prestigious 2006 Elmer Fried Excellence in Teaching Award on June 24, 2006 at the AILA’s annual conference in San Antonio, Texas. Established in 1997, the award recognizes “outstanding professors in the area of immigration law.”
Legomsky, the Charles F. Nagel Professor of International and Comparative Law at Washington University in St. Louis, teaches Immigration Law, Criminal Law, Torts, International Human Rights, International Criminal Law, and International Legal Process. An renowned expert in immigration law and policy, he is the author of Immigration and Refugee Law and Policy, which has been adopted as the required text for immigration courses at more than150 law schools. Among his other books are Specialized Justice and Immigration and the Judiciary – Law and Politics in Britain and America.
