Law School Recognizes Honorary Order of the Coif Initiate, Students at Academic Excellence Reception
Each spring, the law school honors students from the top 15 percent of the class at a special Academic Excellence Reception. This year, members of the Class of 2014 were saluted along with Honorary Order of the Coif Initiate Stuart Kurtz, JD ’85, a founding partner of Kurtz & Revness PC and chair of the firm’s business department.
Kurtz specializes in sophisticated corporate and real estate transactions, including multi-million dollar mergers and acquisitions, licensing, and real estate deals. His transactional practice has involved deals throughout the United States and internationally. Kurtz also has extensive experience in securing and closing financings, including loan closings and debt and equity raises. Prior to forming the firm in 1995, he practiced law at prestigious firms located in Philadelphia and St. Louis.
Vice Dean Andrew Martin also made remarks. Martin and Assistant Dean Elizabeth Walsh then presented each honoree with a gift and a chocolate “purse of gold,” in recognition of the ancient tradition in which initiates to the English Order of the Coif were honored for their achievements with purses of gold.
Kurtz was previously featured in Washington University Law Magazine. To read his interview, see [more]
