Student Mentor Program
The Student Mentor Program is a student-run program that matches interested first year students (1Ls) with a second or third year student (2L or 3L) who will serve as a mentor during the Fall Semester. The goal of the program is to help first year students navigate the challenges of their first year by connecting with an upper-level student who can supply information, experience, and even fun during the first semester of law school. The program has been very successful in helping many first year students more easily make the transition into their new environments.
Each mentor is expected to meet with his or her mentee at least twice during the semester, and both mentors and mentees are encouraged to contact each other frequently. In addition, there is a “get to know you” social event at the beginning of the semester and an end of the semester exam break.
