|About Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw|
Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw are computer-assisted legal research services that provide access to tens of thousands of databases covering primary and secondary legal, news and business resources.
Although there is a great deal of duplication in the areas of primary legal literature (statutes, cases, regulations) each service has unique databases, in the areas of scholarly, secondary legal, business and news information. Each service also has a unique citator, KeyCite on Westlaw, and Shepard's on Lexis-Nexis.
These databases require individually assigned passwords. Passwords are provided to all incoming law students. Non law Washington University students may use LexisNexis Academic available at http://libproxy.wustl.edu/login?url=http://web.lexis-nexis.com/universe.
