Law Faculty and Staff
School of Law faculty and staff may use the Library during all scheduled hours. They may check out all circulating materials.

Law Students
Law students may use the Library during all scheduled hours. They may check out all circulating materials.

Non-Law Faculty and Staff
Non-law Washington University faculty and staff may use the Library during all scheduled hours. They may check out all circulating materials.

Non-Law Students
Washington University graduate and medical students may use the Library during all scheduled hours. Washington University undergraduate students are permitted to use the Library from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. To use the Library outside of these hours (i.e., if they have a research need that requires use of the Law Library), Washington University undergraduates must request a special pass from a librarian. Graduate and undergraduate Washington University students may check out all circulating materials.

St. Louis University Law Students
Through a reciprocal agreement with St. Louis University, SLU law students may use the Library during all scheduled hours.  During Washington University Law School Final Exams, beginning with the reading period, access is restricted to Washington University Law Students.  

Law Library Associates
Law Library Association members are lawyers who have paid a yearly membership fee to the Library. They are allowed to use the Library during all scheduled hours. Law Library Associates are entitled to check out all circulating materials.

Elliot Society
The Elliot Society is a group comprised of individuals who have made significant contributions to Washington University. Members are allowed to use the Library during all scheduled hours. They are entitled to check out all circulating materials.

Public
The Library has restricted hours for the general public. It is open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. To use the Law Library outside of these hours, members of the public must request a special pass from a librarian. Members of the public may not check books out of the Library.

Washington University Courtesy Borrower Card
Washington University Courtesy Borrower Cards are issued by Olin Library. These cards may not be used to borrow books from the Law Library.

Circulation Policy
In an attempt to further the teaching and research function of the Law Library, most Library materials do not circulate outside of the Library. Materials which do not circulate include periodicals, loose-leafs, multi-volume sets, sets with pocket parts or supplements, microforms and materials on Reserve or Reference. Circulating materials may be checked out for a two week period and may be renewed unless recalled.
