ICC Legal Tools Project

The Whitney R. Harris World Law Institute finalized a Co-Operation Agreement with the International Criminal Court in September 2009. Under the Co-Operation Agreement, the Harris Institute is responsible for collecting and uploading to the ICC Legal Tools database resolutions from the UN General Assembly and Security Council concerning war and peace, genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and other the areas of law relevant to the ICC.  

The Harris Institute also updates and maintains the collection of documents for the “National Jurisdictions” and “National Cases Involving Core International Crimes” section of the database where student participants research, collect, and analyze relevant domestic legislation and case law concerning genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes for the following States: 

Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Kiribati, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritius, Namibia, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, South Africa, Swaziland, Tonga, Tuvalu, Tanzania, USA, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
