Guenael Mettraux

Dr. Guénaël Mettraux, a renowned practitioner, scholar, and teacher of international criminal law, has appeared before or served as a consultant for all of the major international criminal tribunals in The Hague. He has lectured on international criminal law at top law schools in The Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, the United States, and Bosnia & Herzegovina. The American Society of International Law honored his most recent book, THE LAW OF COMMAND RESPONSIBILITY (Oxford 2009), with the prestigious Francis Lieber Prize (for outstanding scholarship in the field of armed conflict by a young author). Dr. Mettraux received his Licence en Droit from the Université de Lausanne, his Masters in International Law from University College London, and his Ph.D. from the Law Department of the London School of Economics & Political Science.
