The Whitney R. Harris World Law Institute is pleased to partner with the American Red Cross Humanitarian Law Unit to offer this full-day workshop on International Humanitarian Law.  Through a hands-on approach, utilizing group activities, class discussion and compelling multimedia, this course prepares participants to recognize key concepts in international humanitarian law, including: 

  • Types of armed conflict 
  • The Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols 
  • Fundamental Principles and Protections for Persons and Objects 
  • Distinction between combatants and civilians 
  • Civilian direct participation in hostilities 
  • Role of the Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations in armed conflict

Registration deadline: April 1, 2016 (Registration is now closed)

 Registration fee*: $75 regular | $50 Alumni | $25 students 

*Workshop registration fee includes Red Cross IHL manual and certificate, meals (breakfast and lunch), parking, and CLE credit.
