Profile
Adele Morrison is a tenured Associate Professor visiting from Northern Illinois University College of Law where she teaches the Domestic Violence Clinic; Family Law; Children, Parents and the State; and a Sex, Sexuality and the Law Seminar. Prior to her career in legal academia, Professor Morrison worked for a number of years in social service programming and administration, primarily with organizations focused on domestic violence and civil rights. Professor Morrison graduated with a B.A in Women’s Studies from San Francisco State University. After earning her J.D. from Stanford Law School, she, as an Echoing Green Fellow working in legal services, founded and directed a same-sex domestic violence project. This public interest fellowship was followed by three years as a Remington-Hastie Fellow awarded by the University of Wisconsin Law School. She earned her LL.M while working as a Clinical Instructor with the Legal Assistance for Institutionalized Persons’ Clinic and Neighborhood Law Project. Professor Morrison teaches, writes and is committed to service in the areas of family and domestic violence law; race, gender, sexuality and the law and public interest and poverty law. She currently serves on several boards and committees including the Society of American Law Teachers Board of Governors and the Board of Directors of LatCrit Inc.
