Profile

Professor Goldwasser brings years of trial experience to her teaching. Before beginning her teaching career, she was a law clerk to Judge Edward R. Becker, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (now on the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit) and an Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of Illinois. She is a member of the Association of American Law Schools Sections on Criminal Justice and Women in the Law, and the American Bar Association Section on Criminal Justice.

Her publications include "Vindicating the Right to Trial by Jury and the Requirement of Proof Beyond a Reasonable Doubt: A Critique of the Conventional Wisdom About Excluding Defense Evidence," Georgetown Law Journal (1998); "Limiting a Criminal Defendant's Use of Peremptory Challenges: On Symmetry and the Jury in a Criminal Trial," Harvard Law Review (1989) and "After ABSCAM: An Examination of Congressional Proposals to Limit Targeting Discretion in Federal Undercover Investigations," Emory Law Journal (1987).

Professor Goldwasser also served as Associate Dean for Student Affairs, where her responsibilities included helping students with both academic and personal problems; serving as a liaison for students with the administration and the faculty; and overseeing the work of the Student Advising Program and Public Service Project.
