Some American law schools have cosponsored with Chinese law schools to hold Chinese law study programs for American law students and lawyers in summer. These programs are hosted by Chinese/Hong Kong law schools. These programs usually provide an overview of Chinese law, with emphasis on commercial transactions, and with comparative law components. Most of these programs are approved by American Bar Association for credit. The course work and instruction are in English or with English translation. These programs also include field trips to law firms, stock exchanges, court mediation and proceedings, and jails; visits to scenic and cultural areas; and provide opportunity to interact with Chinese law students, professors, attorneys, business people and justice officials. The following is a list of this kind of programs. The program course titles and time can be changed each year. For current information, please check the sponsors’ websites.
