Steven N. Rappaport

Steven N. Rappaport, J.D. '74, is a partner in RZ Capital LLC, a New York firm specializing in private equity investments, Steven N. Rappaport also serves as lead director and chairman of the Audit Committee of the Credit Suisse Mutual Fund Complex; director of Presstek, Inc. (NASDAQ); and director in a number of other private entities.
Rappaport previously was a principal owner and president of Loanet, Inc., a firm providing network and accounting services to major custodial banks and broker dealers. He also was a senior officer and director of Metallurg, Inc.; senior officer in a financial information distribution company that was sold to Dow Jones & Co.; and partner at Hartman & Craven, a private law firm in New York City.
Among his leadership roles, Rappaport is an active board member of the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan and the MCC Theatre in New York City.
He received his BSBA from Northeastern University and an LLM in taxation from New York University. Rappaport and his wife, Judith A. Garson, JD ’75, were head residents on Washington University’s South 40 while attending law school.
A member of the National Council, Rappaport chaired the Council’s Strategic Planning Advisory Committee. He also serves on the executive committee of the University’s New York Regional Cabinet and on the Parents Council.
The Rappaports’ son, Peter, is an undergraduate at Washington University.
