Colloquium Results in Climate Change Principles

The law school’s Whitney R. Harris World Law Institute recently sponsored a colloquium on “International Climate Change: Post-Kyoto Challenges,” which resulted in a call for international solutions. The conference was scheduled in anticipation of two, major international climate change negotiations—a summit in Poland, and Washington University’s McDonnell Academy conference in Hong Kong focusing on energy and the environment. Former Clinic Student Argues Before 8th Circuit

Katherine H. Purdy, JD ’08, formerly a member of the law school’s Appellate Clinic and now an associate at Husch Blackwell Sanders, argued Serna v. Goodno before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. The case concerns Fourth Amendment standards for visual body cavity searches of civilly committed patients. [More]

Six alumni will be honored at the Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 17 in the Crowder Courtyard, Anheuser-Busch Hall. Classmates Pay Tribute to Cary Talbot
Classmates of Cary Lawrence Talbot, JD ’97, share both a written tribute and a YouTube video in his memory. Talbot died on November 9, 2008 after a heroic struggle with a rare and extremely aggressive form of cancer. He was 38. [More]
