Admitted and Current Student Information

Congratulations on your Admission to the LLM Program

2018 January Welcome

Congratulations on your admission to the LLM program at Washington University School of Law. Over the next few months we will be sharing information about our law school, surrounding community, and information to help you navigate the visa and student registration process. We also want to give you a sense of what life is like here on campus and in St. Louis throughout the year. We are excited to have you join our community of scholars and are confident this will be a valuable experience for you.

BREAKING NEWS: Summer English Language Program:

You have the opportunity to participate in our extremely popular Summer Legal Language Program (SLEP) FREE of charge. As soon as you pay your deposit to reserve your seat in the LLM program ($1000 US) you will have the opportunity to enroll in this program FREE of charge (tuition for the program is typically $5200 US). We have a limited number of seats, so we recommend you act quickly if you are interested in the SLEP program. You will have the opportunity to refine your English speaking and writing skills. The program also provides a good overview of the US legal system to help ensure your success in your academic program.

WashULaw News:

In 2017, WashULaw celebrated our 150th anniversary with a year of celebrations, symposia, and reflections on our history. [http://law.wustl.edu/WashULaw/150/] The oldest law school in the western half of the United States, WashULaw is highly regarded in both the academic and professional communities. We are ranked 18 by US News for American law schools and our students come from all over the world – the entering class last fall joined us from 34 different countries. Classes recently started for the Spring semester and the buildings are busy. We are happy to have everyone back and hope you will be with us this fall!

Our Local Community:

WashULaw is located on the beautiful Danforth Campus of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Our campus is immediately adjacent to one of the largest public parks in the U.S. Forest Park offers many attractions including a world class zoo, museums, outdoor theater, ice skating, and golf. [https://www.tripsavvy.com/things-to-see-and-do-in-forest-park-3137496] Getting to downtown St. Louis or to the airport is also simple as we have 2 Metrolink (public transit) stops on campus. Passes are provided to all full-time students free of charge. We have just finished the winter holidays and there were many opportunities to enjoy typical American holiday decorations, light displays, visits from Santa, and holiday parties.

Next Steps:

Your primary contact in our International Programs office for visa information will be Rachael Johnson. Rachael has years of experience with assisting students with this process and will keep you updated of relevant dates and process requirements.
