Law, Identity & Culture Initiative (LIC)
Co-directed by Professors Adrienne Davis (Law) and Rebecca Wanzo (Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies), the Law, Identity & Culture Initiative facilitates inter-disciplinary exchanges about the intersection of legal, cultural, and political issues. The LIC Initiative invites collaboration between scholars whose work illuminates the integral role identity plays in contemporary political discourse. The Initiative sponsors different modules, including a legal theory workshop, identity studies working group, interdisciplinary colloquia, and faculty and student reading groups. It also hosts visiting scholars in residence. Finally, the Initiative partners with other schools, departments, and programs to sponsor conferences, panels, lectures, and visiting scholars.
