Washington University's LL.M. program is fully integrated within the School of Law. You attend classes with JD students as well as other LL.M. students, who come from many different legal cultures. In addition, there are Friday afternoon "happy hours" and other social activities open to all law students.
More than 20 different student organizations present many opportunities for you to interact with your fellow students outside the classroom. Student organizations are a great way to become energized and active in a specific area of law.
To help you adjust to St. Louis and the School of Law, you are paired with an American JD student. This mentor helps you understand the culture of the Law School as well as United States culture and you enrich your mentor as you tell about your culture and the law in your country. Monthly field trips to local attractions and potluck dinners with the mentors provide time to get to know each other and St. Louis.
