The Law School is in the forefront of teaching, research, and scholarship in this exciting and ever-expanding field. Our Intellectual Property & Technology Law (IP/TL) program allows law students to focus on various aspects of IP law, preparing them to practice in any jurisdiction and in the international arena. With its many Fortune 500 companies, including Monsanto, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Nestlé/RalstonPurina, and pharmaceutical firms, St. Louis is a hot-bed of IP activity, especially in the biotechnology arena.

J.D. students have ample opportunity to participate in:

• the Intellectual Property & Nonprofit Organizations Clinic; 
• Center for Law, Innovation & Economic Growth; 
• two moot-court competitions; 
• Intellectual Property Law Society; and
• IP conferences sponsored by the law school.

We offer numerous courses taught by our esteemed faculty in this area of law in both our basic (J.D.) and advanced (LL.M.) programs. J.D. students may take (with permission) courses offered through the law school's LL.M in Intellectual Property & Technology Law program.
