Moot Court Competitions
Washington University has a diverse program of competitions, including two Intellectual Property moot court competitions. The Giles Rich Moot Court Competition, sponsored by the American Intellectual Property Law Association, focuses primarily on patent law issues.
Giles Sutherland Rich Moot Court Competition
Washington University's Giles Rich team won the best appellant brief for the Midwest region in 2003 and was one of two teams to advance to national: Natalie Lissy, J.D. '04, Bryan Wheelock, coach, and Michelle Degen, J.D.'04 at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington D.C.

Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition
The Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition, sponsored by the International Trademark Association, focuses on a current issue in trademark and unfair competition law. Washington University students are consistently successful in representing the law school in these competitions at both the regional and national levels.
