IN THE JUDICIAL CLERKSHIP, students work as part-time law clerks under the supervision of local, state, and federal trial and appellate judges in Missouri and Illinois. Students conduct extensive legal research; draft legal memoranda for cases before the courts; and observe hearings, trials, and other court proceedings.  They receive structured, hands-on exposure to civil and criminal litigation from the judicial perspective. Students also develop advanced legal research and writing skills, participate in the judicial decision-making process, and critically observe practitioners and judges. Judicial Clerkship Externs are uniquely qualified and prepared for judicial clerkships after graduation. Charles W. Bobinette, adjunct professor and former judge, oversees this program.
