Center on Law, Innovation and Economic Growth


The Center on Law, Innovation & Economic Growth (CLIEG) is a faculty-based research program within Washington University. Its mission is to generate and support quality research in the area of law & economics, innovation and entrepreneurship. The Center is physically located in the School of Law but as an interdisciplinary center its goal is to serve the entire University community.

Originally named the Center for Research on Innovation & Entrepreneurship, on March 26, 2009 the Center was renamed the Center on Law, Innovation & Economic Growth (CLIEG). In January 2010, Professor Gerrit De Geest, having served as Co-Director of the Center, assumed the position of Director.
